In conjunction with Neil Shanks, Physical Prep lead for swimming at the sportscotland institute of sport here is some advice for swimmers to keep in shape at home.
Bodyweight Home Programme (1).pdf
Sessions require no equipment other than the odd bit of home furniture and most will last around 20-30 minutes.
Mon & Thurs – Lower Body
Tues & Fri – Upper Body
Wed & Saturday are energy system days
Sunday is recovery mobility.

West District Sprints and Relays

Congratulations to
Rebecca Cole who won Gold in the 50 Back and 50 Breast as well as Silver in the 100 IM.
Rebecca and her teammates Emma McGavin, Tiana Greenshields and Jenna Murphy won Bronze in the 11/12 years Freestyle Relay,
The 16 and over Freestyle relay- Cameron Leckie, Ellie Forsyth, Jenna Gilmore and Cameron Bilsland won Silver.
We had 128 PBs and 26 finalists at this meet which is fantastic.

Congratulations to Cameron Bilsland on his success in the freestyle events. Cameron won Silver in the 50 and 100 free and Bronze in the 200 and 400 Free.
Our congratulations to Cameron Leckie who was 5th in 800 free, 7th in the 200 fly, 7th in the 50 fly and good swim in his other 3 events. Congratulations also to Rebecca Cole who was 6th in the 50 breast and swam well in her other 2 events.
Emma Leggate was out 4th swimmer at the meet and she swam well in all of her events.

50 Medals at the Rutherglen Graded Meet

20 of our young swimmers brought home a total of 50 medals from the Rutherglen Graded Meet on 1 June. We had 43 swimmers who have an incredible 109 PBs between them. Well done everyone!

Meet our new President and Vice-President has been a member of the club since he was
Craig Forrest is our new President. Craig has been a member of the club since he was a wee boy. He is an accomplished masters swimmer and can be seen training with the top squads in the morning and some evenings.
Gordon McGavin is our Vice-President. Gordon is also an accomplished Masters swimmer who recently won bronze at the Scottish Championships. Gordon has three children in the club and he also trains frequently with the top groups.
Both Craig and Gordon offer advice and encouragement to our swimmers on a regular basis.
Gala fees
Lesley Percy will be in cafe area Tuesday 15th May 6.30pm till 7.30pm to collect Gala fees.

Hamilton Baths ASC along with 5 other clubs make up the South Lanarkshire Swim Team, In April the team won the overall trophy for the best team at the SNAGs.

British Para Swimming Championships, Manchester, 12th-13th December 2015.
Congratulations to Lewis Beagrie on winning four silvers and one bronze medal. Lewis was awarded silver in 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 100 fly and 100 backstroke and bronze in 100 breaststroke. Well done Lewis.
Swim Run UK event
Well done to 2 of our Master swimmers Craig Forrest and Colin Pratt, who were 3rd in the first Swim Run UK event, held at Loch Lomond on 5 September.
Craig and Colin swam 10k and ran 28k as a team.

Touching the wall on Breaststroke and Butterfly
There has been some debate about how swimmers should touch the wall in Breaststroke and Butterfly after FINA announced a “new” rule after the summer. They have now sent clarification in the form of photographs, which is really helpful.
